Definition
Agglutinating test for the qualitative and semi-qualitative detection of antibodies (IgG and IgM) to Brucella in human serum.
Specifications
The sensitivity of this test is standardized at 25 IU/ml, against the 2nd International Preparation of anti-Brucella abortus from NIBSC (WHO).
Components
- 2,5 ml Rose Bengal suspension (white cap): mix of inactivated brucella cells + acid buffer + rose bengal (stain)
- 1 ml Positive control (red cap)
- 1 ml Negative control (blue cap)
- 8 x 6 disposable slides
All solutions contain 2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (Proclin 950)

Precautions for Use
All biological samples must be as potentially infectious and handled with the usual precautions (compulsary wearing of gloves, hand washing, etc.).
Caution: reagent and controls contain phenol.
Storage
- Keep refrigerated between 2 and 8ºC, protected from light
- Do not freeze
- Shelf life 21 months
- Guaranteed minimum remaining shelf life at delivery: 1/3 of total shelf life
