PARACETAMOL suppository - NST

Mild to moderate pain and/or fever in children when oral administration is not possible.

Instructions for use

Must. be given by rectal route.

Remove the suppository from the blister pack immediately before use.

Dosage: approximately 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 doses (15 mg/kg every 6 hrs),

The dosage should be adjusted according to the child's weight to avoid overdosing with paracetamol. N-acetylcysteine IV is the antidote for paracetamol poisoning.

Precautions for Use

Do not split or cut suppositories; administer them whole.

Do not administer in case of diarrhoea.

Due to the risk of toxicity, do not administer more than 4 times a day. Switch to the oral route as soon as possible.
