Indications
Peptic ulcer perforation
Reduction of gastric acidity in patients at risk of aspiration prior to induction of anaesthesia
Instructions for use
Reconstitute the powder vial as follows:
- Using a syringe, withdraw 5 ml from a 100 ml bottle of 0.9% NaCl.
- Inject this 5 ml into the vial of omeprazole powder, and shake until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Withdraw the reconstituted omeprazol solution from the vial and transfer it back into the remaining 95ml of the 0.9% NaCl bottle.
Administer the 100 ml solution containing diluted omeprazole by IV infusion.
In case of perforated peptic ulcer, begin with IV omeprazole. Switch to PO omeprazole as soon as the patient is able to swallow (omeprazole is as effective orally as intravenously).
Injectable omeprazole replaces injectable cimetidine and ranitidine.

- After reconstitution/dilution, use the product immediately.
