Function

Vacuum pump oil is used to lubricate and seal moving parts, capture contaminants and help to cool the pump.

Oil should be replaced when:

  • the oil in the sight glass is observed to be contaminated
  • condensation present in the pump
  • change of color or consistency of the oil (oil turns brown or foamy)
  • if pump has been unused for a long time
