Function

Surge protection devices (SPDs) are installed between live conductors and protective earth in electrical installations. They remain in standby mode, monitoring surges. When a surge occurs, they conduct the excess energy safely to the ground, limiting the voltage to acceptable levels. SPDs are categorized as Type 1, 2, or 3 depending on the surge environment and are tested according to IEC 61643-11.

The CITEL DAC1-13S-11-275 provides coordinated protection on both L/N and N/PE paths in 230 V single-phase TT or TN systems.
